Alexander McQueen Spring / Summer 2018 Menswear Collection
A VERY "ANTI'' SUMMER COLLECTION

The british summer might not be something to write home about but even so McQueen's new collection is quite the opposite with thick leather jackets and knitted jumpers walked down the runway alongside heavily embroidered trenchcoats. Maybe this is a warning that next spring is going to be a harsh one? While we debate if McQueen can predict the future lets take a look at the rest of the collection.
LOTS AND LOTS OF LEATHER
We know that leather is pretty much a staple in McQueen shows, it's usually involved in someway during a show, however in this collection its definitely a must have and i think we can bet on seeing these jackets making an appearance on the high street next year. These garments give off a very punk vibe while also being heavily tailored garments as seen on the leather trenchcoat in the image above. You might be sweating next summer but who can turn down McQueen?
TRENCHCOATS WITH A TWIST
This collection is very heavily connected to the womenswear of s/s 17, after spending a while comparing the two anyone could make that assumption, the intricately embroidered quotes from Rudyard Kiplings 'The Explorer' with red string flowing from it gives it a very whimsical feel. Multiple garments displayed frayed or draped strings with different embroidery, my favourite has to be the beautiful silver tree embroidered onto the black trenchcoat, this garment also has frayed black string flowing off the end of the coat.
TIME TO UPCYCLE GRANDAD'S JUMPERS
Not that these jumpers aren't gorgeous but I think I saw my grandad in something similar... All jokes aside I am loving the colours and patterns used on these jumpers, I also really like how they are cinching them in with very thin belts, this is definitely something I will start doing whenever I break out my jumpers again. The layering is really gorgeous too however I don't think I'm going to be layering up like that in the Georgia summer heat!Let me know if you guys would wear these garments in spring where you are.
